 FAQs

  • The Dinner with Friends experience is so special because of our hosts. Your job as the host is to make your guests feel welcome from the moment they walk into your home. The best hosts are the ones that make you feel like you’ve been friends forever! Some of the qualities we look for are being friendly, welcoming, and able to keep the conversation going no matter what.

  • After you submit your application, we’ll review it and get back to you with more details. Ideally, we are looking for hosts who can host 5+ guests at a proper dining room table. Location is also a factor: we want to make sure that guests can easily get to your event!

We’re also looking for a proven track record of being a good cook - this doesn’t mean that you went to culinary school, but we do need to know what you can cook for a group and do it well.

Finally, since the Dinner with Friends experience relies so much on the host, we’d love to know that you’ve successfully hosted a group in your home.

  • Dinner with Friends is meant to be accessible and casual, so our menus reflect that! Food is very personal, so feel free to showcase yourself and your background and heritage through the menus you create. Anita tends to lean Asian, French, and Italian, for example. See some of our past menus here for inspiration!

Once you’re brought on board as a host, you’ll submit your menu for review and feedback before it’s published and marketed for guests to join.

  • You’ll receive 75% of the ticket sales for your event - which should cover your groceries and time spent hosting your event! Tickets typically start at $65 per person. We’ll take care of the marketing and logistics, so all you need to focus on is hosting your event and providing a great experience for yourself and your guests!

  • We’re here to support you from day 1! You’ll share your menu with us for feedback before it’s published and shared with potential guests. For first time hosts, you’ll host your first event with an experienced Dinner with Friends host, who will be able to support you during your event. As a host, you’ll also be able to use our menu archive of successful events with full ingredient lists and cooking instructions.
